Caraïbes is a gorgeously tropical base for an epic Dark & Stormy. Start by filling a highball glass with ice cubes, and pour 140 ml of ginger beer over the top – it should be about three quarters full. Add 40 ml of Caraïbes, and let it disperse slowly down the glass. Squeeze two chunks of lime over, garnish with a twist of lime peel and a slice of fresh ginger, and serve.Back to shop
When you smell Caraïbes, you’ll be met with a sweet, fruity, spicy aroma array.
When you taste Caraïbes, you will experience fresh and light sugarcane notes, followed by soft tropical fruit flavours, with a spicy finish with notes of ginger, clove and licorice.
The West Indies has been producing sugarcane for hundreds of years. Made up of over 7,000 islands and territories stretching from the Florida peninsula of North America down to the northern coast of Venezuela, it is as beautiful as it is diverse. From active volcanoes to limestone islands to palm-fringed white beaches, each land is unique and different, imbued with its own distinct character and charm.
Compagnie des Indes’ Caraïbes is an aromatic blend of rums, hailing from Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, and Guyana. Easy on the palate, Caraïbes is a wonderful starting point for anyone looking to embark upon a discovery of different rums. Its lightly sweet and spicy flavours have all been carefully measured during the blending process, to ensure a well-balanced taste profile with no overpowering notes.
The rums that go into Caraïbes were all aged for three-five years in bourbon barrels out in the Caribbean, before taking the trip across the ocean to France. The meticulous blending process is a matter of taste and discovery, with a little organic cane sugar added to highlight the top notes. The resulting blend is a beautiful mix of these terroirs, with a light, vivacious personality.
Compagnie des Indes was created by Florent Beuchet, a wine expert hailing from Burgundy, France. Realising that the world of rums was every bit as diverse and varied as the world of wines, he set out on a journey of education. By offering a selection of unique single-cask rums along with carefully created blends, he hopes to introduce people to the rich universe of craft rums, and discover new terroirs along the way.More on the Brand
