To try Le Whisky des Français in a cocktail, let’s go for the most French of cocktails imaginable -–Le Boulevardier! To make a Boulevardier, pour equal parts Le Whisky des Français, sweet vermouth, and Campari over ice into a shaker. Shake well, and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a twist of orange peel or a maraschino cherry. Sip, while picturing yourself sitting at a table on a Parisian boulevard.Back to shop

Cognac is over in the west of France, in the Charente region. It has been famous for centuries for producing its eponymous cognacs, along with other wines and spirits. Whisky, however, is a fairly new arrival to the region! Dotted with castles and dashed with vineyards, this ancient city shows no sign of tiring of its reputation as a spirit-producing hub.
The French connection
Le Whisky des Français is French in its body, heart and soul. It’s made from all locally sourced ingredients, and its funding came from a group effort of local people, who donated to help get it started and were rewarded with trees planted in their names. It’s closer to a Scotch than a bourbon, with a smoky, malty flavour palate but in the end, this is a uniquely French whisky.
The Taste of France
Le Whisky des Français is aged in wooden barrels for three years. Some of these are barrels that have contained Sauternes wine – a sweet white wine produced in Bordeaux. The Sauternes-infused wood lends notes of cedar, brioche, and vanilla to the whisky, giving it depth and complexity. This whisky doesn’t conform to any traditional flavour rules; it’s stylish, modern, and innovative. As part of the new wave of whiskies being produced in France, Le Whisky des Français emphatically helps stamp French whisky onto the map.
The Brains Behind It
Two friends with a passion
Alexandre and Nicolas are two young entrepreneurs who have already worked together on previous distillation projects. When they came up with Le Whisky des Français, their main priority was sustainability. They crowdfunded to set the brand up, and are careful to only use locally sourced products and ingredients to produce their whiskies.More on the Brand
