When you smell Principe de Los Apóstoles Gin, you'll notice strong notes of eucalyptus and mint along with coriander, juniper and pomelo - a large citrus fruit similar to a grapefruit.
When you taste Principe de Los Apóstoles Gin, you'll instantly be hit with fresh mint flavours that are grassy and grainy. It is truly Argentina in a glass.
While the gin itself is distilled in Mendoza, Argentina, most of the fresh botanicals and plants that give Apóstoles its unique flavour are grown in Misiones - a rugged province that borders Brazil and Paraguay. The Jesuit settlers of the 1700s were the first to realise the potential of this land for growing mate leaves, which they planted in abundance.
Back to the Roots
Having built a global reputation for his mixology skills and cocktail prowess, Tato Giovannoni came home to his native Argentina to merge his love for his country with his passion for spirits. He spent two years creating a special recipe which combines traditional Argentinian mate leaf flavours with a classic craft gin base.
A Contemporary Slant on History
Apóstoles marries South American flavours with high-quality craft gin. Argentinian plants and botanicals are macerated separately, then blended for distillation. The result is a New World gin that has tropical notes of mate, eucalyptus, fig, juniper, coriander, peppermint and pink grapefruit.
The Brains Behind It
For Love of the Spirit
Tato Giovannoni is currently one of the most famous Latin American mixologists in the world. His love affair with food and drinks dates back to his childhood in Pinamar, where he began working in his father’s restaurant at the age of 12. Since then, his career has taken him around the world, where his reputation as a bartender and cocktail creator now precedes him. After opening the world-famous cocktail bar, Florería Atlánticon, in Buenos Aires, Tato has taken on a new challenge, creating his own spirit to honour his homeland of Argentina.More on the Brand
